Vertical Taskbar in Linux

The Problem

I have found a subset of people love to have their taskbar on the left vertical edge of the screen. If you have several windows open at any given time, this will help you a lot. Here’s an example:

Vertical Taskbar

This behavior is supported natively by Windows (at least since XP or even earlier). Linux, at least Ubuntu, does not easily support this feature. You are welcome to try it, there are all types of bugs related to it.

The Solution

I tried many solutions and even other distros, and found a very easy solution, Avant Window Navigator. This little utility has surpassed them all. Here’s an example.
